is it true vegans are healthier?
Q. i hear vegans are less prone to heart disease, specific cancers, diebeties, obesiety even conctepation? i even hear being a vegan makes you more flexible, feel lighter, and they look and feel great. how much of it is true and what are other true facts about this diet?

A. Whole foods plant-based diets are being used by many doctors and specialists to reverse cancer, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and make people generally healthy and get off medications, etc.

Most of these diseases can be traced to the harmful effects of animal products. There is tons of scientific evidence that eliminating animal products from your diet reduces your risk of all of these conditions.

But if you're not careful you can be vegan and unhealthy. I think vegans, regardless of how healthy or unhealthy they eat, will have lower rates of the things you listed and other illnesses, but if they eat garbage they may have higher rates of other things (most likely vitamin/mineral deficiencies).

Its not hard to eat healthy - fruits, vegetables, dark leafy greens, whole grains, legumes, and a reliable source of vitamin B12 (I use nutritional yeast).

i have a crush on a boy wat should i do?
Q. this boy is kind of cute . hes short blonde haired and dieabetic? if i every had sex with him would i get diebeties?? would our kids?

A. NO, NO, NO!

my girlfriend has type 1 diebeties what do i need to know about it??
Q. my girlfriend has type 1 diebeties and i just wanted to know what kind of things i need to help her keep an eye on when we are together?

A. type 1 diabetes is insulin dependent and juvenile onset. (Contrary to what people think type 2 diabetes does effect children and teens also just mostly adults)

The best thing you can do for your girlfriend is to find out how she controls it. Insulin Pump or Injections? Then what her Carb ratio is. If shes counting carbs and not the old "exchange" way then its simply a matter of knowing the carb count of what she is eating and how much insulin she takes for how many ingested carbs. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. If your not gonna get THAT involved in it, just remind her to take her blood sugar and if she has taken the insulin for what she ate. Ask her for her signs and symptoms of a low and watch for that when your with her. Sometimes a low blood sugar can sneak up on you and it interferes with the thought process and she may not be able to help herself.
