I am a male 47 year old, why do I have these pains?
Q. I am a 47 year old man and sometimes I have these pains. Had a complete physical last year because I was not feeling good. Everything checked out fine. Good heart, no diabitis doctor checked blood & urine. Everything normal. Sometimes i get a little pain in chest either side and sometimes a little shortness of breadth it only lasts 5-10 seconds then usually goes away. I work an active job standing on my feet for 8 to 10 hours a day. Do you think its stress or just the joys of pushing 50. I get this more when I'm not working. The small pain always goes away, it can happen once a day or not for a couple of days.

A. This is probably not what you want to hear, but usually if you get a clean bill of health, then it has more to do with your emotions. It could be stress. What you described sounds like a panic attack. Is there something new that has been troubling you? Or is there something old that you have shoved under the rug and now it is coming to the surface? Try and slow down a little and think of what could be the source of stress in your life. If you cannot figure it out, then consider talking to a counselor. The fact that you mentioned the joys of turning 50, that could be a source of stress for you. Many people instead of viewing it as another year find the big 50 something hard to cope with.

Canadian injection for diabetis?

Q. I heard today there is an injection given directly into the pancreas in Canada which has 95% cure rate for adult onset diabitis. Is this true? Who can I contact for more information and/or appointment?

A. Sorry to say, but Tamarak is correct. Unfortunately you have heard a bit incorrectly. The "Edmonton Protocol" is a treatment for only those with TYPE 1 diabetes, the rare severe form that is not preventable and often first occurs in childhood (i.e. juvenile diabetes).

Due to the fact that there is a shortage of donors, a poor success rate, and the fact that the recipient must take toxic drugs that cause cancer (the average recipient dies within 10 years of the transplant, and the transplants often fail within 1 year leaving the person back on insulin), this procedure is only for those who have unexpected repeated blackouts and seizures from unstable Type 1 diabetes. That is, their diabetes is SEVERELY immediately life-threatening.

Some of these people will just pass out without warning and will have a seizure.

Because Type 2 diabetes ("adult onset") is linked to poor diet, obesity, and lack of exercise in 90% of cases, and can be treated well in most cases with lifestyle changes and medication, this is not considered a viable treatment for Type 2 diabetes.

Also, since Type 2 diabetics have insulin resistance and are often overweight, they will need much more donor tissue than a Type 1 diabetic ever would. Since there is already a shortage of donor islets, there is virtually no chance that the millions of Type 2 diabetics would ever be treated using this particular method.

If you insist, here is the contact information:

http://www.islet.med.ualberta.ca/cand.html

Note that you have to be a Canadian Type 1 diabetic, and below a certain body weight.

Does diabitis have a cure ?
Q. and no i dont have diabitis

A. The medical establishment says there is no cure and that the best you can do is control the blood sugar with diet and exercise. Many doctors insist that it's progressive no matter what you do, and that eating right only slows the progression of the disease.

However...

1. One doctor has a book out claiming that a strict vegan diet for many months can reverse the course of diabetes. Whether it ever restores the pancreas to full health or not is the question.

2. Getting a pancreas transplant can cure it, in that the person now has a healthy pancreas. However, if the same forces that made the original pancreas go bad are still there (auto-immune reactions, for one), then even this may not be a lasting cure. And besides, once a person has a transplant, they have to take anti-rejection medication for the rest of their lives.

3. Cloning a person's healthy pancreatic tissue would seem to be the best answer, and research is being done along these lines, but they haven't reached a point where this is available as a treatment.

Why are so many Americans over weight ?To much junk food ,lack of exercise or what?
Q.

A. It's not just junk food, it's all food: too much, too many fats, too many calories, too much salt, too many carbohydrates and little or no exercise. I think you should be able to eat everything in proportion. Not double portions, not 2 hamburgers instead of 1, not 3 hotdogs instead of one. Instead of going to the Drive in perhaps a walk to the favourite fast food restaurant would help some.
It's little wonder that Diabitis has reached pandemic proportions. There are a lot of people who are going to be finding out pretty soon about nutrition, appropriate foods and portions as well as learning what a balanced diet is.
They will be healthier, feel better and for sure they will look better.

How can i make extra money from hom without investing so much?

Q. iam a low income famaly and my health is not so good i have diabitis, high blood pleasure, high colesterol, arthritis, some mental problems, like depression, and mingrain headaches, take lots of med and the side affects mess es me up thats why i need to stay home, but need the extra cash any sudgestions please let me know has to be something for reals not joking thanks

A. Be careful about all these answers you are getting.

My wife and I work from home with an international food science company because of the awesome results we saw in our own bodies, and because of the credibility of the company.

There are around 7,000 direct selling companies out there. Less than 200 are part of the DSA, an invitation only, non-profit ethical watch dog organization for these companies. The company we work with is considered the Gold Standard at the DSA. If a company doesn't meet the ethical standards of the DSA, don't buy from them, and don't sell for them.

The company we work with is listed on the Nasdaq (RELV), with it's books open for the world to see. It also has been praised by the top media out there, including Businessweek, Forbes, Fortune, and tons more.

If you are looking for an opportunity, I would be happy to tell you why we enjoy what we do, but before you hang your shingle with any company, make sure they measure up to these standards. I personally don't know of any other company that does.

Would a cupcake Business work out?
Q. I LOVE cupcakes and i want to start a small cupcake business from my house. I would deliver the cupcakes fresh to the people, or they could pick them up and I could do catering. And 25% or so or the earned money would go to a cause like the earth foundation or juvinial diabitis. do you think i'd make money?

A. If you're serious about it, you have to check what the local regulations for a food business are. You may need to register. Then there are the taxes to consider. If it's for a charity only, you should be ok, but if you want to make a profit, these are the things to consider. Good Luck!

Can a person get thrush from?

Why do I see flashes of light when I go to bed? What is the explaination for this?
Q. Whenever I go to bed, I would always hear tapping sounds from across my room. Everynight I see minor flashes of light when my eyes are closed accompanied by a tapping sound. The everynight flashes last only less than a second. There were three times when the light was really bright. The first big one was the longest, probably lasting 3 to 4 seconds. I really thought that someone was shinning a flashlight in my eyes but when no one said anything I got scared and kept my eyes closed. The second time I heard a really loud tap from my table and then a bright light around 2 seconds. The third time was around one second but it was really bright. I opened my eyes but there was nothing there. One time I actually heard someone clap in my room but there was no one there. I'm sure it wasn't from anywhere else. I don't know if it' me or something else, I just want to know the truth. This probably isn't the best section to ask but I want answers from intelligent people.
alot of the answers explain the light but what about the sounds? its not a coincidence that they both happens at the same time. If there is a name for this, it would really help me to know the name.

A. high blood pressure or diabitis

and you really should get your eyes checked

what is the normal level of blood glucose for a diabetic?
Q. the person has type 2 diabitis

A. For a fasting reading, it's the same as it is for a normal person... 80 to 110 mg/dl

These discrepancies you're seeing in the different answers have to do with whether you're talking plasma glucose, whole blood glucose, and where you get your information from. Also, Canada and the UK use mmol/l where you divide our mg/dl by 18 to find 4.4 to 6.1 mmol/l

Most accepted authorities are saying 80 to 110. Below 70 (3.9) is considered low by just about every standard in existence. Above 120 (6.7) is considered high by just about every standard in existence.

Who here actually believes the story about how Bin Laden was killed?
Q. Why bury him at sea, where the body can't be recovered and examined to determine not only the 'cause' of death but, and maybe more importantly 'WHEN' he actually died?

All thoughts welcome.

A. ihave to say i find a lot of things about osama's death seem strange. i agree with you...i think its uncanny timing, not to mention a great distraction, from all that waste of time trying to prove obama is an immigrant. i think that the secrecy is thick and makes me wonder not only how he actually died but when and where. this event was like a movie climax that leads to resolution. i mean, how hard would it b find the 6' + guy with diabitis who attacked the cockiest country in history? i just dont buy what theyre trying to sell.
